Police incident in Fontana
A vehicle crashed into a tree after being chased by officers during an incident on March 7, according to the Fontana Police Department.
Around 9:22 p.m., police attempted to stop a vehicle due to multiple violations of the California Vehicle Code, said Public Information Officer Daniel Romero. The car did not stop, initiating a pursuit.
The pursuit began at the intersection of Catawba Avenue and Valley Boulevard and continued north on Catawba. The suspect continued traveling north until reaching Merrill Avenue, where he failed to navigate a dead-end, resulting in the collision with a tree.
The driver, identified as Angel Vizcarra, 23, suffered leg injuries. Additionally, his female passenger also sustained leg injuries. Both were subsequently transported to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center for treatment.
