Mother's Car in Long Beach Engulfed in Flames;
In Long Beach, California, Valarie Escalante's morning took a devastating turn when she discovered her 2016 Nissan Rogue, which she had just bought two weeks ago, had been completely destroyed in a fire. Around 3:45 a.m. on Sunday, the vehicle was engulfed in flames while parked on the street, leaving only ashes behind. Escalante, in shock, explained that she was not notified of the incident and only realized what had happened when she went outside to get breakfast.
Surveillance footage from a neighbor's camera captured the distressing moment the car caught fire. Two hours later, the vehicle was towed due to the extensive damage. The Long Beach Fire Department is investigating the incident as a possible case of arson.
Escalante lost everything inside the vehicle, including her six-month-old son's stroller, car seat, and other personal belongings. She was planning to register the car on Monday morning, but it was completely destroyed before she had the chance.
In response, Escalante's mother, Brenda Garcia, launched a GoFundMe campaign to help her daughter buy a new car so she can take her son to doctor’s appointments and run errands. As the investigation continues, the family hopes for justice and urges the community to stay vigilant against potential acts of vandalism.
