Hesperia Truck Accident:
HESPERIA, California – A crash involving a tractor-trailer caused delays for northbound motorists on the 15 freeway in Hesperia.
The incident occurred around 7:30 PM on August 8, 2024, on northbound I-15 between Joshua Street and Main Street. The truck, carrying dry parcels, veered off the freeway and overturned in a drainage ditch. Although the truck's cab was damaged, it remained upright.
The truck driver was uninjured, and several Good Samaritans assisted in helping him out of the vehicle. Firefighters reported that about 65 gallons of fuel spilled from a damaged tank into the drainage ditch, requiring a Hazmat team for cleanup.
The crash blocked the northbound slow lane and right shoulder, leading to significant traffic backups that began before Ranchero Road and continued into the night.
Around 11:50 PM, Mariposa Road was also closed between Joshua and Main Streets to protect tow truck drivers and other personnel working at the scene.
The California Highway Patrol's Victorville Station is investigating the cause of the accident.
