Heartbreak Strikes Del Oro in Placer County
A devastating tragedy struck the Del Oro High School community in Loomis, Placer County, as sophomore Keira Bradley lost her life in a Utility Terrain Vehicle (UTV) crash. The 15-year-old was driving a Can-Am Defender XT with two passengers on board when the incident occurred on a Saturday night in Newcastle.
The California Highway Patrol (CHP) reported that Bradley was attempting to back the UTV onto a steep inclined driveway, but unfortunately, she lost control, and the vehicle rolled onto its left side. Despite efforts to save her, Keira Bradley succumbed to her injuries.
The Placer Union High School District expressed its grief and extended condolences to Keira's family, friends, and the entire Del Oro community. Chaplains and mental health resources were offered to support students and staff through this difficult time.
A touching vigil was held at the Auburn Gymnastics Center, where Bradley had been a part of the community since she was seven years old. Friends, family, and coaches remembered her as a kind and loving soul, always ready to lend a hand and bring joy to those around her.
Keira Bradley was on the cusp of her 16th birthday, which had been planned for December 22nd. Instead, her family organized a candlelight vigil to commemorate her life and the lasting impact she had on everyone she met.
