The victim pursued the fleeing vehicle, during which the initial driver exchanged places with his passenger, a woman who then took over the driving. While driving northbound on Natividad, she lost control of the vehicle, crossing into the opposing lane and colliding head-on with the vehicle carrying the mother and her children.
Sgt.
