Goleta Collision
A man was seriously injured and hospitalized following a head-on collision between two vehicles in Goleta on Saturday morning. The incident occurred around 10:44 a.m. on the 6600 block of Cathedral Oaks Road near Los Carneros Road.
The victim, a male driver operating a Jeep Cherokee, sustained major injuries in the crash. He was promptly transported to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital via ambulance. The rescue operation, carried out by the Santa Barbara County Fire Department (SBCFD), took approximately 15 minutes to extract the injured driver from his vehicle.
On the other hand, the driver of a Chevrolet pickup truck, also male, suffered only minor injuries and declined medical treatment. The SBCFD temporarily closed the roads surrounding the accident site, affecting the area between Los Carneros Rd and Glenn Annie Road.
