Fatal Ramona Collision
A devastating crash occurred in Ramona, resulting in the loss of two lives, one of whom was a 13-year-old boy. The incident took place on Thursday evening when a 21-year-old man was driving a 2007 Toyota Scion TC westbound on San Vicente Road, near Wildcat Canyon Road, around 4:45 p.m.
The speed of the vehicle remains unknown. Simultaneously, a 61-year-old woman was driving a 2018 Dodge Durango eastbound on San Vicente Road, approaching the Toyota.
According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), the driver of the Toyota veered over the painted double yellow lines into the eastbound lane, leading to a collision between the Dodge and the right passenger side of the Toyota.
Tragically, both the driver of the Toyota and her front seat passenger, the 13-year-old boy, were pronounced dead at the scene by medical responders. The driver of the Dodge sustained minor injuries and was taken to a local hospital.
All individuals involved in the accident were residents of Ramona. The roadway was reported to be wet from rain at the time of the crash. The reason behind the Toyota crossing into the opposing lane remains unknown, pending further investigation by the CHP.
