A tragic incident occurred on the westbound direction of Interstate 580 near the Isabel Avenue exit, resulting in one fatality due to a pedestrian being struck by a vehicle. California Highway Patrol received multiple calls reporting drivers swerving to avoid something on the roadway. Upon investigation, two individuals were found on the road, potentially linked to an earlier incident involving an assault on an Uber driver. Both individuals were struck by a vehicle after exiting the Uber, resulting in the death of one. The Alameda County Coroner was called to the scene, and it is unknown at this time whether the pedestrians were struck by another vehicle or by the Uber itself.
