PALM DESERT, CA (November 4, 2024) — A tragic incident occurred on Highway 74 near Vista Point where Tristin Bourgeois lost his life following a collision between his pickup and a semi-truck.
The Riverside County Coroner’s Office confirmed that 27-year-old Tristin Samuel Bourgeois was fatally injured in the crash involving two vehicles. A semi-truck, for reasons yet to be determined, lost control while traveling downbound on Highway 74. The truck overturned and struck a Chevrolet Silverado that was traveling in the opposite direction.
The driver of the Chevrolet Silverado, later identified by the Riverside County Coroner as 27-year-old Bourgeois, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The accident prompted California Highway Patrol officers to close the highway, which was later reopened by 1:40 p.m. following a preliminary investigation.
