Collision in Canoga Park

In a tragic incident, a collision involving four vehicles resulted in the loss of two lives and left four others hospitalized in Canoga Park. The incident occurred around 1:45 a.m. on a Sunday morning in the 7600 block of Topanga Canyon Boulevard, according to preliminary information released by the Los Angeles Fire Department. The victims of the devastating crash included an unidentified man and woman, both of unknown ages, who were sadly pronounced dead at the scene. They were trapped in the wreckage of the four-car collision, unable to survive the impact. Two additional victims were rushed to local hospitals and are currently in critical condition, battling for their lives. Fortunately, the remaining victims sustained minor injuries and did not require transportation to the hospital. Law enforcement authorities confirmed that at the time of the collision, three of the vehicles were in motion, while one was parked on Topanga Canyon. The tragedy unfolded when the driver of an older model Honda Civic, traveling southbound, inexplicably crossed over into the northbound lanes, colliding with a Toyota Camry. The collision was so intense that it caused the Honda Civic to spin, ejecting the driver and tragically leading to the death of the front right passenger. According to Los Angeles Police Department Sergeant Rich Brunson, speed played a pivotal role in this devastating accident, emphasizing the importance of safe driving practices. The 7600 block of Topanga Canyon Boulevard was eventually reopened by 7 a.m., but the community remains deeply affected by this heartbreaking incident.
