Accident on I-805

On a recent Saturday morning, a severe car accident occurred on Interstate 805 in Chula Vista, resulting in a fatality. The incident, as reported by the California Highway Patrol (CHP), involved a 60-year-old woman from Anaheim who was driving southbound on I-805, just north of East Naples Street, at approximately 10:25 a.m. Tragically, she lost control of her vehicle under unclear circumstances. The car, identified as a Nissan, collided with a concrete wall before tumbling onto East Naples Street below. The impact was catastrophic, and the driver suffered fatal injuries. She was declared deceased at the scene of the accident. Accompanying her was a 60-year-old male passenger, also from Anaheim, who sustained major injuries. He was promptly transported to a local hospital for treatment. As part of the ongoing investigation, a toxicology report is being conducted by the San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office. This report aims to ascertain whether alcohol or drugs played a role in this tragic accident. At this time, the identity of the deceased driver is being withheld from the public. The aftermath of the crash led to the temporary closure of East Naples Street. CHP officers were on the scene to investigate the crash site thoroughly.
