Fatal accident in Woodland Hills:
On Tuesday morning, several lanes of the 101 Freeway in the Woodland Hills area of Los Angeles were closed following a fatal pedestrian accident. The incident was reported just before 6 a.m. on the eastbound lanes near Winnetka Avenue. According to reports, the pedestrian’s body somehow flew over the center divider (K-rail) and landed in the westbound lanes, further complicating traffic in both directions on the freeway.
Following the accident, the first two lanes on both sides of the freeway were temporarily closed, but traffic continued to move through the far-right lanes. Emergency teams worked at the scene for several hours to clear the area, and all lanes were reopened shortly before 10 a.m.
At this time, it remains unknown what led to the accident or how the pedestrian ended up on the freeway. Authorities are still investigating the details to clarify the exact circumstances of the incident.
