Fatal accident in San Marcos:
A woman who was hit by a car while walking along a road in San Marcos earlier this month has been identified as 76-year-old Francisca Garcia Vargas. The accident took place on the evening of September 6 at the intersection of South Twin Oaks Valley Road and Shubin Lane, according to the San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office, which published the report on its website.
According to the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department, Vargas was walking along South Twin Oaks Valley Road when she was struck by a vehicle. Emergency responders quickly arrived and transported the victim to the hospital due to the severity of her injuries, but she sadly passed away later at the hospital.
Authorities confirmed that alcohol was not a factor in this tragic accident. Additionally, the driver of the vehicle fully cooperated with the investigation.
