Fatal accident in Fresno:
A tragic accident early Friday morning near Kearney Park, west of Fresno, claimed the lives of three people. According to information provided by the California Highway Patrol (CHP), a Honda Civic traveling east on Kearney Boulevard veered off the road near Garfield Avenue around 2:45 a.m. Officer Mike Salas reported that it appeared the driver made an unsafe left turn, which caused the vehicle to lose control and go off the north shoulder of Kearney Boulevard.
The car struck one of the palm trees lining the road, which resulted in a fire that engulfed the vehicle after the fatal crash. The three occupants of the Honda Civic were pronounced dead at the scene by officers who arrived at the accident site.
The coroner identified the victims as Dario Urena, 25, Syrus Suniga, 21, and Joey Suniga Jr., 27, all residents of Kerman. According to the coroner's report, Dario Urena and Syrus Suniga were stepbrothers, while Syrus and Joey were cousins. This accident has shocked the local community due to the loss of three young individuals in such devastating circumstances.
Authorities continue to investigate the exact causes of the crash, including the speed at which the vehicle was traveling and whether other factors contributed to the tragedy.
