Emergency in Citrus Heights

Two people had to be removed from a car on Wednesday after the driver crashed into a tree in Citrus Heights. The Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District said the crash happened around 4:20 p.m. on Sylvan Road near the 6500 block. Responders helped get the two people out of the car and took them to a nearby hospital for minor to moderate injuries, firefighters said. The crash led to traffic delays. Southbound Sylvan Road and Woodside Drive were closed and northbound Sylvan Road at Stock Ranch Road was under one-lane traffic control as of 5 p.m., the Citrus Heights Police Department said.
