Collision on Mines Road
A suspect has been apprehended following a crash on Mines Road in what law enforcement officials suspect was a DUI-related incident. The incident occurred on a Sunday afternoon, just south of Tesla Road, as reported by the California Highway Patrol Dublin Area via Twitter. Photos released by CHP depict a severely damaged Toyota SUV, with various items strewn about from an open trunk.
According to CHP, the suspects involved in the crash attempted to escape in a stolen vehicle. However, a collaborative effort between the California Highway Patrol, Livermore Police Department, and the Regional Parks Police Department successfully led to their apprehension. One of the photos released by CHP shows a suspect with a blurred face in handcuffs. Unfortunately, no additional details regarding the arrest or the identities of the suspects have been made available at this time.
Patch is currently awaiting further information from both the California Highway Patrol and the Livermore Police Department to provide a more comprehensive account of the incident.
It is worth noting that the area surrounding the winding Mines and Tesla roads has been the scene of several unfortunate incidents in recent times. In October, a tragic accident occurred when a motorcyclist was fatally struck by a car attempting to turn onto Shirley Way. In February 2022, another heartbreaking incident took place as a cyclist lost her life near San Antonio Road, struck by a car while navigating a curve in the opposite direction.
The ongoing concerns regarding safety in this area highlight the importance of vigilant law enforcement efforts to address DUI-related incidents and other accidents, ultimately ensuring the well-being of all road users.
