Death in Porter Ranch

A driver died after crashing into a wall and then a tree in Porter Ranch early Monday morning. The accident occurred at the intersection of Reseda and Sesnon Boulevards around 4:15 a.m., according to Los Angeles Police Department Officer Terzes. The vehicle collided with a wall and then a tree before coming to a stop, Terzes added. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. Aerial footage from Sky5 showed that the vehicle apparently continued straight through Sesnon Boulevard, despite Reseda Boulevard ending at Sesnon. The vehicle seemed to have gone through a low wall on its path through Porter Ridge Park, which begins where Reseda Boulevard ends. The Los Angeles Fire Department said in an alert that the accident caused a fire, and aerial images showed a fire truck on Muirkirk Drive, which is in front of Porter Ridge Park. Officers were seen searching the park with flashlights in the hours before dawn, and a white tent, indicating the presence of a body, was located at the base of a large tree near the park's playground area, along with apparent burn marks. No information has been provided about the deceased. There were no other individuals or vehicles involved in the accident. Investigators are working to determine if speed or intoxication were factors in the accident.
