A 21-year-old woman from Nipomo lost her life in a rollover crash early Thursday morning on Highway 58, east of Highway 299 in Santa Margarita, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP). The young woman was driving a 1997 Ford F-150 truck, and authorities confirmed she was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident.
The incident was reported at 12:59 a.m. via an automatic crash notification sent from her iPhone. Emergency responders arrived at the scene and found the woman trapped inside the overturned truck. Rescue teams extracted her from the vehicle and transported her by ambulance to Adventist Health Sierra Vista hospital. Despite medical efforts, the woman succumbed to her injuries at the hospital.
