Daly City Bus Mishap
In Daly City, a dramatic incident unfolded when a runaway bus crashed, leaving at least one person injured. The collision occurred at Mission and Flournoy streets just before 4 p.m. on a Thursday. According to Muni officials, the runaway bus, descending from the top of a hill, lost control, resulting in the crash. Fortunately, no other vehicles were involved, and the bus came to rest on the median.
Passengers, including one with a walker, and the bus driver managed to exit the vehicle. Surveillance footage from a nearby shop captured the shaken demeanor of the driver. One passenger, Nelson Ramirez, recounted the chaotic scene, describing how he and others leaped from the bus upon realizing it was moving uncontrollably.
Ramirez, only 14 years old, suffered injuries when he landed on the concrete. He later sought medical attention, revealing a sprained wrist. Another individual was also hospitalized, though their condition remains uncertain.
Emergency services worked for hours to maneuver the bus before finally towing it away from the scene. SFMTA released a statement, indicating an ongoing investigation into the matter, while Daly City police handle the immediate aftermath.
