Collision in Rancho Murieta
Three people are hospitalized after a serious accident occurred near Rancho Murieta on Wednesday night. According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), the collision occurred around 8:30 p.m. on Scott Road, north of Latrobe Road.
The incident involved a man driving a Toyota Camry northbound on Scott Road, with two women as passengers. One of the women, seated in the front passenger seat, was wearing a seatbelt, while the other woman, in the back seat, was not wearing a seatbelt.
CHP reported that the driver was traveling at an unsafe speed, causing him to lose control of the vehicle. As a result, the car veered off the road and ended up crashing into a tree.
The woman in the back seat suffered serious injuries due to the impact and was airlifted to a nearby hospital for urgent medical attention. Meanwhile, the driver and the woman in the front passenger seat sustained moderate injuries and were also taken to the hospital for treatment.
So far, authorities have not confirmed whether alcohol or drugs were determining factors in the accident. The CHP investigation is ongoing to clarify the exact circumstances of the crash.
