Collision in Long Beach
A man tragically lost his life in Long Beach after being struck by a vehicle while riding an electric scooter. The incident occurred around 6:27 a.m. on Saturday, near the intersection of Ximeno Avenue and Shaw Street. Emergency services found the man with severe injuries to the upper body and he was transported to a local hospital, where he was sadly pronounced dead. According to investigators, the driver of the involved vehicle was traveling southbound on Ximeno Avenue. It is believed that the male victim failed to yield at a stop sign while riding the scooter, just before the collision occurred. Long Beach Police reported that the driver remained at the scene of the accident and there is no suspicion of drugs or alcohol being a determining factor in the incident. Out of respect for the family, the identity of the victim is being withheld until his closest relatives are notified.
