Collision in Hesperia
On Saturday night, a multi-vehicle accident on northbound I-15 resulted in minor injuries. The incident occurred around 8:00 pm on July 6, 2024, between Joshua Street and Main Street in the city of Hesperia, located in San Bernardino County, California.
According to reports, the accident involved three vehicles: a 2023 Nissan Kicks, a 2019 Mazda CX-5, and a Toyota Sequoia SUV. The collision happened on a section of the highway that was partially blocked, causing two of the three available lanes to become unusable. This blockage led to significant traffic delays, extending up to Ranchero Road, a nearby major intersection.
The San Bernardino County Fire Department responded promptly to the incident. Despite the severity of the crash, no serious injuries were reported. However, at least one person with minor injuries was transported by ambulance to the hospital. Additionally, several young children traveling in one of the vehicles were evaluated by firefighters on the scene to ensure they were not injured.
The California Highway Patrol (CHP), Victorville Station, is currently investigating the causes of the accident. Records from the Patrol indicate that one of the vehicles involved carried seven occupants, which may have contributed to the complexity of the situation. Investigators are working to determine the factors that led to the collision and to ensure that appropriate measures are taken to prevent future accidents in the area.
The accident highlights the importance of road safety and preparedness for emergency situations. Local authorities continue to monitor the situation and work to ensure the safety of all drivers on I-15.
