CHP Officer Airlifted to Hospital
A California Highway Patrol (CHP) motorcycle officer was airlifted to Marian Regional Medical Center after a collision on Highway 101 near Buellton. The incident occurred in the southbound lanes, approximately a half mile south of the Nojoqui Summit. The officer sustained moderate injuries and was initially transported by ground ambulance to the nearby Highway 1 southbound offramp. Due to weather conditions preventing air travel to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital, the officer was transferred to the medical helicopter.
