CARLSBAD, Calif. — A juvenile riding an electric motorcycle was seriously injured on Thursday after colliding with a vehicle in Carlsbad, authorities said.
According to the Carlsbad Police Department, officers responded to reports of a traffic collision at the intersection of Batiquitos Drive and Daisy Avenue shortly after 8 p.m.
Responding officers found the juvenile injured at the intersection. They were treated at the scene by Carlsbad Fire Department personnel and then transported to a local hospital with major injuries.
The driver of the vehicle involved, a 39-year-old man from Carlsbad, remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation, police said.
The department stated that drugs or alcohol are not considered factors in this collision. An investigation into the crash remains ongoing.
