Arrested in Chula Vista
On Saturday night, authorities in Chula Vista conducted a checkpoint operation to detect drivers under the influence of alcohol and drugs. This checkpoint was specifically located on the 11300 block of East 30th Street, between 6 p.m. and midnight. During this period, a total of 1,642 vehicles passed through the checkpoint, with 751 drivers subjected to evaluations by authorities.
During the operation, three drivers were selected for on-the-spot sobriety tests. Among them, one was arrested after testing positive for alcohol and drugs consumption, as confirmed by the Chula Vista Police Department. However, the identity of this individual was not immediately disclosed.
In addition to the arrest, authorities issued citations to 30 drivers for driving without a license or with a suspended license, highlighting the importance of such operations in enforcing traffic laws.
It is important to note that the Chula Vista Police Department emphasized that the location of checkpoints is determined based on reported incidents of crashes related to driving under the influence.
