Accident on the I-15
A large truck overturned causing significant traffic disruptions along the I-15 highway on Thursday night into Friday morning.
The accident occurred around 10:33 PM on May 16, 2024, affecting all lanes south of the Main Street exit.
According to California Highway Patrol incident records, the truck, hauling two trailers, overturned, resulting in a blockage across the northbound section of the highway. The truck cab ended up on the south side, adding complications to traffic flow in both directions.
Officials implemented a complete closure at 10:50 PM, diverting all traffic northbound at the 395 exit to handle the scene safely and efficiently.
Heavy-duty towing service was requested to assist in the vehicle removal.
By 1:01 AM, all northbound traffic lanes between the full closure and the scene had been cleared, allowing traffic to resume, albeit at a slower pace due to ongoing cleanup and investigation efforts.
By 2:10 AM, conditions had slightly improved with the reopening of three southbound lanes, easing some of the traffic congestion caused by the accident.
There was no immediate information available regarding the cause of the crash or any injuries sustained.
The official cause of the accident remains under investigation by the California Highway Patrol Station in Victorville.
