Accident on I-15:
A multi-vehicle accident was reported on northbound Interstate 15, involving seven to eight cars and leaving at least one person injured, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP). The incident occurred on Monday, September 2, 2024, at around 1:47 p.m., just past the Main Street exit in Hesperia.
The initial crash involved a burgundy Kia Sportage SUV and a white Mercedes-Benz SUV, causing a white Kia Forte sedan to become wedged between two vehicles and the center divider. The crash blocked the two left lanes of the highway. Other vehicles involved were a gray Ford Ranger pickup truck, a white Nissan Altima sedan, a black Ford F-150 pickup truck, and what appears to be a silver Mazda sedan.
Emergency services, including the fire department and several ambulances, quickly arrived at the scene. One injury was confirmed, reportedly minor, and the person was transported to a local hospital. All others involved were evaluated by medical personnel on-site, but no one else required hospitalization.
The cause of the accident has yet to be determined, and no citations have been issued at this time. The California Highway Patrol’s Victorville Office is leading the investigation, and a preliminary accident report is expected to provide further details. The story will be updated as more information becomes available.
