Accident in Temecula
On Friday afternoon, a tragic traffic accident in Temecula resulted in the death of a 50-year-old man. The incident occurred around 5:30 p.m. on Rancho California Road, near the I-15 overpass, according to local authorities.
Glenmar Salcedo, a resident of Menifee, was driving a Hyundai SUV when, for reasons that are still unclear, he veered into oncoming traffic. Salcedo collided head-on with another vehicle, and the impact caused this second car to also hit a third vehicle that was on the same road.
Despite the paramedics' efforts to save his life, Salcedo was pronounced dead at the scene. Sheriff’s deputies confirmed that, although rescue attempts were made, the tragic fatality could not be avoided.
Two more people were injured in the accident and were immediately transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. Their current health status has not been reported, but they are receiving medical attention due to the injuries sustained in the collision.
Authorities have indicated that, at this time, intoxication is not believed to be a factor in the accident. The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department has stated that the exact cause of why Salcedo's Hyundai veered into oncoming traffic remains a mystery and is under investigation.
Witnesses or anyone with additional information who might assist in the investigation are asked to contact officials at (951) 696-3000. The community and authorities hope to obtain more details to better understand the circumstances leading to this fatal accident.
