Accident in San Diego:

San Diego authorities have released more details about the accident that occurred Wednesday afternoon on State Route 163, where a Subaru SUV overturned after a series of collisions. According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), the driver of the Subaru, a 22-year-old man from San Diego, was identified as the cause of the crash. The incident took place around 3:18 p.m. and was partially captured on video, which was shared on X, formerly known as Twitter. Authorities reported that the Subaru was traveling southbound on Interstate 805, north of SR-163, when, for reasons still under investigation, it struck a tractor-trailer combination vehicle driven by a 29-year-old man from Tecate, Mexico. After the impact, the Subaru left the roadway and went up an embankment, according to the CHP. Moments later, it re-entered the road as it transitioned onto southbound SR-163. During this maneuver, the Subaru crossed all lanes and struck a Ford Eco Sport, driven by a 70-year-old man from San Diego, causing the Subaru to overturn on SR-163. The driver and passenger of the Subaru, along with the driver of the Ford, were taken to the hospital for treatment. The truck driver was not injured. Authorities confirmed that alcohol and/or drugs are not suspected to have played a role in the collision. The incident remains under investigation, and authorities are asking witnesses to contact the CHP office in San Diego.
