Accident in Sacramento
Two individuals are hospitalized Saturday night after sustaining injuries in a collision involving a semi-truck, according to officials from the Sacramento Metro Fire Department.
The accident occurred around 9:44 p.m. near Happy Lane and Bradview Drive in Mather. Eyewitnesses reported the crash as impactful, with the deafening sound of the collision resonating throughout the residential area.
According to preliminary reports, a vehicle, whose model has not yet been identified, collided violently with the side of a semi-truck while traveling through the area. The impact was so severe that the front of the vehicle was completely demolished, indicating the magnitude of the collision.
Fire crews who responded to the accident scene quickly worked to extricate the trapped victims from the vehicle. After a rescue operation lasting over an hour, they finally managed to remove the two injured individuals, who were urgently transported to the nearest hospital for medical attention.
The identities of the victims are unknown at this time, as is the exact severity of their injuries. However, according to reports from emergency services on site, the injuries were described as moderate to severe.
The accident area was swiftly cordoned off by local authorities as California Highway Patrol (CHP) investigators began collecting evidence and interviewing witnesses to determine the exact cause of the crash.
