Accident in Reseda:
A driver suspected of driving under the influence (DUI) and speeding crashed into several parked cars and overturned in the Reseda neighborhood of Los Angeles early Wednesday morning.
The accident occurred around 2 a.m. when the vehicle was traveling on Victory Boulevard, east of Corbin Avenue. According to investigators, the car was speeding eastbound when it crossed into the westbound lanes and collided with at least five parked vehicles before overturning.
The driver, an 18-year-old man, was taken to a local hospital for treatment of minor injuries. He is expected to be arrested for driving under the influence (DUI), authorities said. Footage from the scene showed a man and a woman, both believed to be between 18 and 20 years old, receiving treatment following the crash. The woman, visibly injured, was placed on a stretcher and transported to an ambulance while sitting upright. The man was seen walking to the ambulance with the help of emergency personnel.
It has not yet been confirmed who was driving the vehicle, but investigators believe both speeding and alcohol were key factors in the accident.
Fortunately, no other injuries were reported. Police began notifying the owners of the damaged parked vehicles. Victory Boulevard was closed between Corbin Avenue and Belmar Avenue during the investigation to allow authorities to work.
