Accident in Rancho San Diego:
SAN DIEGO — Several people were transported to the hospital Sunday morning following a head-on collision in East County, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP).
The accident occurred around 8:30 a.m. on the 1600 block of Mirage Court, located in the Rancho San Diego community. According to the CHP sergeant at the scene, two vehicles collided at an intersection where one of the cars had a stop sign, while the other had the right of way.
The drivers of both vehicles, along with an unknown number of passengers, were taken to a local hospital for treatment. Sergeant Bailey stated that some of the injured were reported to be in serious condition.
The roadway was temporarily blocked as authorities conducted their investigation and cleaned up the area.
