Accident in La Jolla:
In San Diego, a motorcyclist was taken to the hospital on Friday following a crash in La Jolla, according to the San Diego Police Department.
The rider, a 25-year-old woman, was riding a 2024 Kawasaki Ninja motorcycle northbound in the 2600 block of Torrey Pines Road around 1:20 p.m. when she failed to navigate a curve in the road, police explained. The rider struck the center median and was ejected from her motorcycle onto the southbound lane. She was transported to the hospital for treatment.
According to authorities, she suffered fractures to her legs and torso, as well as internal bleeding that required emergency surgery. Her injuries are considered life-threatening.
Police said alcohol was not a factor in this collision.
