Accident in East Los Angeles:
On Wednesday morning, a collision occurred in East Los Angeles between an E Line Metro light rail train and a car, causing the train to derail and resulting in one person being hospitalized. The accident happened around 9:20 a.m. near the intersection of Third Street and Rowan Avenue, involving an E Line train and a black sedan. At this time, it is unclear how many people were aboard the train or how many occupants were in the car.
The condition of the person taken to the hospital is not immediately known, and details regarding the state of those involved remain limited.
Due to the accident, E Line service was disrupted near Metro’s Indiana station. Authorities urged riders to follow the official @metrolaalerts account on X for updates on the service.
