Accident in Amador County

Two people are in critical condition in the hospital after a shocking car accident in Amador County on Thursday afternoon. According to California Highway Patrol (CHP) spokeswoman Officer Cynthia White, the accident occurred when a CHP officer attempted to make a traffic stop on Shenandoah Road, near Dickson Road, in Plymouth. At that time, the police vehicle was violently struck on the passenger side by another car traveling in the same direction. The collision was so severe that it left the officer injured and trapped inside his vehicle. Emergency services quickly responded to the scene and managed to free him before rushing him by helicopter to a nearby hospital. The other driver involved in the accident also suffered serious injuries and was transported to the same hospital by helicopter. Both patients are in critical but stable condition, according to medical sources. As for the reason why the officer was attempting the traffic stop, no information has been revealed yet. The investigation into the exact circumstances of the accident is still ongoing, and more details are expected to be clarified in the coming days. This tragic incident serves as a reminder of the importance of road safety and caution while driving, especially when interacting with emergency vehicles on the road.
