Tragic accident in Red Bluff:

A 35-year-old man lost his life after leading Tehama County deputies on a high-speed chase while driving a stolen motorcycle in Red Bluff, California, early Saturday morning. The man, identified as Andrew Wesley Krause, was ejected from the motorcycle after crashing into a ditch, and although he received medical attention at the scene, he later died due to the injuries sustained. The incident began at 12:35 a.m. when deputies noticed a motorcycle speeding down Willow Street near South Jackson Street without its lights on. Deputies attempted to stop the motorcyclist, but he drove recklessly, even crossing front yards and driving on the wrong side of the road. Several times, the driver appeared to surrender, only to flee again. Finally, while heading toward the P.A.T.H. shelter on Lay Avenue, he attempted to access a grass field, at which point he fell into a ditch. Responders began providing medical assistance to Krause at the scene, who was in critical condition. He was transported to the hospital, where he died from his injuries. Later, it was discovered that the motorcycle had been stolen. Taneesha Marie Lutey, from Forest Ranch, reported that the dirt bike involved in the crash belonged to her husband and had been stolen from their truck in July when it was parked in Red Bluff. The California Highway Patrol (CHP) is investigating the crash, and anyone with information is asked to contact them.
