Tragic crash in Spring Valley:

SPRING VALLEY, Calif.— Two people died after a van crashed into a light pole in Spring Valley on Friday evening, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP). The incident occurred around 6:13 p.m. on Friday when a man from Perris, California, was driving a silver Nissan Quest on the off-ramp of State Route 94 toward Bancroft Drive. For reasons still under investigation, the driver lost control of the vehicle, causing it to veer off the road and crash into a light pole, authorities said. The driver and a 63-year-old female passenger in the front seat died as a result of the crash. A 14-year-old girl who was sitting in the back seat was transported to the hospital with serious injuries, according to authorities. Both the driver and passengers were residents of Perris. The CHP has asked any witnesses of the crash to contact the El Cajon office to provide information. The investigation is ongoing, and according to CHP, alcohol or drugs do not appear to have been factors in this tragic accident.
