Tragic Crash in San Diego:
A tragic accident occurred on Saturday afternoon in San Diego when a collision between a motorcycle and a car resulted in a fatality. The incident took place around 4:30 p.m. at the intersection of Camino Del Rio North and Ward Road. According to the San Diego Police Department, a 60-year-old man was driving a 2015 Subaru Outback eastbound on Camino Del Rio North. At the same time, a 59-year-old man was riding a 2021 BMW G310 motorcycle in the same direction but in a different lane.
The Subaru driver attempted to make an illegal U-turn across a median, directly in front of the motorcycle. This resulted in a violent collision on the side of the Subaru. Unfortunately, the motorcyclist died at the scene of the accident. The motorcycle's passenger, a 55-year-old woman, suffered severe injuries, including a fractured pelvis, a broken leg, and a collapsed lung. Her injuries are considered life-threatening.
Authorities confirmed that alcohol was not a factor in the crash. The San Diego Police Department's Traffic Division is handling the investigation and is expected to remain on the scene for several hours. Authorities are asking anyone with information about the incident to contact the SDPD Traffic Division or San Diego County Crime Stoppers.
