Accident in Mission Hills:
MISSION HILLS, LOS ANGELES — A driver died after crashing off the 118 Freeway and into the backyard of a home in the Mission Hills area. The incident occurred just after 11 p.m. on Monday, according to the California Highway Patrol's traffic log. The car reportedly flew off the freeway and landed in the backyard of a house on Burnet Avenue. Video from the scene shows the mangled car landing just a few feet away from a swingset in the backyard. It appears no one was in the backyard at the time of the accident. The driver of the vehicle that crashed was pronounced dead at the scene. The cause of the crash is under investigation, but a neighbor mentioned that similar incidents have happened before.
