Fatal Crash in Ramona:
RAMONA, California — A Pala man died after his motorcycle collided with a truck in Ramona late Friday night, authorities say.
According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP) on Monday, the 25-year-old was riding a 2022 Harley-Davidson motorcycle westbound on 10th Street, east of Main Street, shortly before 11:30 p.m. Meanwhile, an 18-year-old Ramona man driving a 1995 Chevrolet 1500 was stopped at a red traffic signal on 10th Street, east of Main Street.
For reasons still under investigation, the motorcyclist crashed into the truck while it was stopped. The impact caused him to be thrown from the motorcycle, and medical personnel pronounced him dead at the scene. The driver of the truck was not injured in the crash, authorities say.
It is unknown whether the motorcyclist was under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol leading up to the crash. CHP says the driver of the Chevrolet truck was not under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol at the time.
The investigation continues to determine the exact causes of the accident and whether the motorcyclist’s condition may have contributed to the tragic event.
