In Terminous, California, a pickup truck driver died Thursday after crashing into a big rig on Highway 12. The accident occurred just after noon near Guard Road in San Joaquin County.
According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), the incident happened when the driver of a Ford pickup truck, traveling westbound, veered into an eastbound lane for unknown reasons and collided with a big rig.
The driver of the pickup truck was pronounced dead at the scene. The CHP has stated that all westbound traffic is being diverted at Guard Road, while the eastbound shoulder of the highway remains open.
It is currently unknown whether drugs or alcohol were factors in the crash. Authorities are continuing to investigate the causes of the accident to determine if any additional factors contributed to the collision.
