Tragedy on the 5 Freeway:
On Wednesday morning, a Sigalert was issued following a fatal accident on the 5 Freeway in the Los Feliz/Griffith Park area of Los Angeles. The incident occurred shortly after 3:30 a.m. when a pickup truck rolled over near Los Feliz Boulevard and crashed into a fence on the right shoulder. The exact cause of the crash has not yet been determined, but the California Highway Patrol (CHP) confirmed that one person lost their life in the incident.
The identity of the victim has not been released. This tragic accident led authorities to close several northbound lanes while the investigation was conducted. As a result, traffic was backed up in the Elysian Valley area, with only one lane open for vehicles as of 5:30 a.m.
