Tragic Accident on the 405 Freeway:
On Friday, a Lancaster man died after his motorcycle was struck by a dark sedan on the San Diego (405) Freeway in North Hills. California Highway Patrol (CHP) officers were called at 2:11 a.m. to the northbound freeway and Nordhoff Street, where they found the victim and the sedan in the middle lanes of the freeway, CHP Officer Elizabeth Kravig told City News Service.
The motorcyclist was later identified by the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner as Raymond Cody Gomez, 30, a resident of Lancaster. Following the accident, the CHP issued a SigAlert to close all lanes of the northbound freeway for several hours while they investigated the cause of the collision.
The tragedy occurred in the early hours of Friday, leaving traffic halted while investigators worked at the scene. The exact causes of the accident have not yet been determined, but authorities continue to gather information to clarify what happened.
