Tragedy in Compton
A 9-year-old boy tragically lost his life after the car he was traveling in collided with a Metro bus in the area of Compton. The incident occurred around 10:20 p.m. on Monday at the intersection of San Pedro Street and Rosecrans Avenue, in the community of West Rancho Dominguez, located in southern Los Angeles County. According to reports from the California Highway Patrol (CHP), the vehicle involved was a silver Hyundai Elantra.
The car was driven by Rosa Elena Corado, 41, who had passengers Maricela Canales, 40, and Rosalina López, 35, along with the child whose identity was not disclosed. Following the collision, all occupants were immediately transported to Harbor-UCLA Medical Center. Despite medical efforts, the child sadly did not survive and passed away at the hospital.
The Metro bus driver sustained minor injuries, while according to CHP reports, there were no passengers on board the bus at the time of the accident. Authorities are currently conducting a thorough investigation to determine the exact circumstances that led to this tragic collision between the car and the bus.
