Accident in Kensington

A man was taken to the hospital on Saturday after a collision involving two motorcycles in the Kensington neighborhood, according to local authorities. According to the San Diego Police Department report, the incident occurred around 1:30 a.m. when a 32-year-old man was riding his 2016 Harley Davidson motorcycle northbound on 4400 Aldine Drive. At that time, a second motorcyclist, aged 38, was also riding a 2021 Harley Davidson, properly stopped at the intersection of Aldine Drive and Fairmont Avenue for a stop sign. Unfortunately, the younger motorcyclist failed to stop in time and collided violently from behind with the vehicle ahead of him. As a result of the impact, the 32-year-old man suffered an open compound fracture in his left leg. Emergency teams responded quickly to the call and transported the injured man to the nearest hospital for urgent medical attention. Fortunately, the second motorcyclist involved in the accident did not suffer physical injuries during the collision. The SDPD Traffic Division took over the investigation of the incident, seeking to determine the exact circumstances that led to the crash. Any witness or person with relevant information about the accident is urged to contact Crime Stoppers at 888-580-8477 to provide details that may assist in the investigation. This incident underscores the importance of respecting traffic signals and maintaining a safe distance between vehicles, especially during nighttime when visibility may be reduced.
