Tragedy in Rancho Cucamonga
A 43-year-old man, a resident of Rancho Cucamonga, died in a tragic traffic accident on May 13, according to the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department.
The incident occurred around 2:52 p.m. when Rancho Cucamonga Police Department officers responded to a collision between two vehicles at the intersection of Archibald Avenue and 8th Street.
The accident involved a motorcycle driven by Joshua Bay, traveling southbound on Archibald in lane number one. A red Chevrolet Silverado, driven by a 52-year-old resident of Rialto, was traveling northbound on Archibald in a dedicated left-turn lane near the 8th Street intersection. The motorcyclist collided with the vehicle while attempting to turn left onto 8th Street. Bay was transported to San Antonio Regional Hospital. Despite efforts by doctors to save his life, Bay was pronounced dead shortly after arriving at the hospital. The driver of the Silverado was uninjured.
The cause of the accident is under investigation.
