Collision in Colina Del Sol
In a tragic incident that has shaken the community of Colina Del Sol, a 44-year-old man lost his life after being hit by a driver allegedly under the influence of alcohol. According to the official report from the San Diego Police Department, the fateful event occurred around 9:10 p.m. on Thursday night in the 4900 block of El Cajon Boulevard.
Eyewitnesses report that the pedestrian, whose identity has not yet been disclosed, was running south from the north edge of the street when the collision occurred. At that moment, a 20-year-old was driving in the left lane eastbound on El Cajon Boulevard. Suddenly, the pedestrian stopped in the right lane and, without warning, changed direction running north, directly into the path of the vehicle.
The impact was inevitable, and the pedestrian suffered severe head injuries that proved to be fatal. Despite efforts to save his life, he was urgently transported to Scripps Mercy Hospital, where doctors unfortunately had to pronounce his death. Meanwhile, the driver responsible for the accident, the 20-year-old, was subjected to tests to determine his blood alcohol level and subsequently arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol.
