Accident in Bakersfield
The El Portal Mexican Grill restaurant, located in west Bakersfield, has reopened its doors after a shocking incident during last Saturday's lunch hour. A car crashed into the restaurant's lobby, causing a stir in the area.
Fortunately, the accident did not result in any injuries, as there were no customers seated in the lobby area at the time of impact. The restaurant manager reported that the vehicle crashed directly into the business's wall, right at the intersection of Calloway Drive and Brimhall Road, but luckily, no one was physically harmed.
Following the impact, restaurant staff acted quickly to make temporary repairs to the building structure and erect a temporary wall to ensure the safety of customers and continue operations.
Despite the severity of the accident, it is reported that the car's driver did not suffer injuries, and no arrests were made in connection with the incident. California Highway Patrol (CHP) authorities have confirmed that there are no indications that drugs or alcohol were a factor in the crash, ruling out any suspicion of driving under the influence of substances.
The restaurant, having overcome this unexpected incident, is ready to welcome its customers again and continue offering its characteristic culinary services of Mexican cuisine.
