A stretch of the Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu was closed for several hours on Monday after rocks from a hillside fell onto the road.
The landslide was reported around 11:30 p.m. on Saturday at Big Rock Drive, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The road remained closed in both directions during the morning rush hour, but eventually, one lane was opened to drivers.
Authorities said that lane would be used to alternate traffic east and westbound. Drivers were warned to expect heavy traffic as Caltrans crews worked to clear the area.
It's unclear when the road will fully reopen.
Meanwhile, Topanga Canyon Boulevard was also closed due to a landslide over the weekend.
