Incident on I-5

An incident occurred on Interstate 5 near the Bankers Hill neighborhood in San Diego on Monday when a garbage truck overturned, causing chaotic traffic conditions just before the morning rush hour. The accident was reported just before 6 a.m. near Hawthorn Street in the northbound lane No. 1 of the highway, according to California Highway Patrol records. About 10 gallons of mixed oil and diesel spilled onto the road after the truck overturned. Details on what caused the garbage truck to overturn are unclear at this time.
